> SEO marketing in Las Vegas: see how local SEO works, what it costs with real prices, and where 377 local businesses we scanned fall short.

- **What This Covers:** How local SEO works in Las Vegas, what it costs, and what to check before you hire an agency
- **Who It's For:** Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas business owners who want more customers from Google, Google Maps, and AI search
- **Key Takeaway:** Most local businesses we scanned have their Google listing in decent shape, and AI search visibility is where they're losing ground

If you run a business in Las Vegas, you already know the competition is intense. Whether you're a financial advisor on the west side, a contractor serving Henderson, or a healthcare practice near Summerlin, your customers are searching for you online before they ever pick up the phone. The question is whether you show up when they do.

SEO marketing in Las Vegas is the work of getting a local business to appear when nearby customers search Google, Google Maps, and AI tools like ChatGPT for what it sells. It combines your Google Business Profile, your website, your directory listings, your reviews, and how AI tools describe you. We're based in Henderson, and this guide covers how each piece works, what it costs, and what to look for in an agency.

## What Is Local SEO, And How Is It Different From Regular SEO?

Local SEO is SEO focused on a geographic area, so your business shows up for searches like "HVAC repair Henderson" or "financial advisor near me," including the Google Maps results. Regular SEO targets searches anywhere. If you're new to the basics, our guide to [what SEO is](/blog/what-is-seo/) explains the fundamentals, and our [SEO best practices guide](/blog/seo-best-practices-guide/) covers the on-page and technical work.

Local search has also moved beyond Google. In BrightLocal's [Local Consumer Review Survey 2026](https://www.brightlocal.com/research/local-consumer-review-survey/), 71% of consumers used Google for local recommendations, and use of ChatGPT and other AI tools for local recommendations rose from 6% to 45% in a year. A Las Vegas business now needs to show up in both places.

## What Did We Find When We Scanned 377 Las Vegas-Area Businesses?

AI visibility, not Google Business Profile, is the weakest spot for most local businesses we scanned. Between August 11 and October 7, 2026, we ran 377 businesses in Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas through our [Local Visibility Scanner](/local-visibility-tool/). These were businesses our prospecting tool pulled from Google Maps across 14 categories, not a random sample of every business in the valley.

For 261 of them (69%), AEO and AI visibility was their lowest-scoring category. That's our scanner's score for how easily AI search tools can find and cite a business. Website local SEO was the lowest for 81 (21%), reviews for 32 (8%), and Google Business Profile for just 3 (under 1%). The median overall score was 73 out of 100.

The pattern held across industries, though some niches lag more than others. Here's the share of scanned businesses in each niche whose lowest category was AEO and AI visibility. We left out niches with fewer than 25 businesses scanned.

  <thead>
    <tr>
      <th>Niche</th>
      <th>Businesses Scanned</th>
      <th>Lowest Category Was AI Visibility</th>
    </tr>
  </thead>
  <tbody>
    <tr><td>Urgent care</td><td>29</td><td>83% (24)</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Mortgage brokers</td><td>45</td><td>82% (37)</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Real estate attorneys</td><td>38</td><td>76% (29)</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Nail salons</td><td>70</td><td>74% (52)</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Real estate agents</td><td>32</td><td>69% (22)</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Insurance agents</td><td>51</td><td>65% (33)</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Criminal defense attorneys</td><td>29</td><td>52% (15)</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Barbershops</td><td>60</td><td>50% (30)</td></tr>
  </tbody>

What this means for you: if your competitors already have a complete Google listing, finishing yours only keeps you even. The opening is in your website and in how AI tools see your business. You can run the same free scan on your own business with our [Local Visibility Tool](/local-visibility-tool/).

## What Are The Core Parts Of Local SEO In Las Vegas?

Local SEO has five parts, and each one has its own guide on our site. You don't need to master all of them at once, but you do need to know which one is your weakest.

- **Google Business Profile:** The listing that shows up in Google Maps and the local pack. See our guide to [optimizing your Google Business Profile](/blog/optimize-your-google-business-profile/).
- **Your website:** Clear page titles, fast mobile load times, and pages for the services and areas you cover. Our [Las Vegas web design guide](/blog/las-vegas-web-design/) covers what a local site needs.
- **Citations:** Your name, address, and phone number listed the same way on directories like Yelp, Bing Places, and Apple Maps. See our list of [local citation sources](/blog/top-local-citation-sources/).
- **Reviews:** BrightLocal found 74% of consumers seek reviews written in the last three months, so new reviews every month beat an old pile.
- **AI visibility:** How ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews describe and recommend you. Our [Local GEO and AEO guide](/blog/local-geo-and-aeo/) walks through it step by step.

[Content marketing](/blog/what-is-content-marketing/) ties these together. Pages that answer your customers' real questions, about your services and about the neighborhoods you serve like Henderson, Summerlin, or North Las Vegas, give both Google and AI tools something specific to show.

Whatever agency you talk to, ask for the price in writing, the contract term, and exactly what gets done each month. If an agency can't answer those three questions plainly, keep looking.

## What Should You Look For In A Las Vegas SEO Agency?

Look for an agency that explains its work plainly, shows real results, and never promises a guaranteed ranking. Google's own guide, [Do you need an SEO?](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/do-i-need-seo), says "No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google" and warns against firms that are secretive, send unsolicited pitches, or talk about link schemes.

Beyond those red flags, check a few things before you sign. Ask for real results with real numbers. Ask what reports you'll get each month and what they'll show. Make sure any content created for your site belongs to you if you leave. Ask what the contract term is; ours is month-to-month, and we recommend giving it at least 3 months. And ask how well the agency knows the Las Vegas market, from the Strip's tourist traffic to the neighborhoods in Henderson and Summerlin where locals actually search.

## Should A Las Vegas Business Choose SEO Or Paid Ads?

Most Las Vegas businesses do best with both: paid ads for leads now and SEO for leads that keep coming. Paid search through our [digital advertising services](/services/digital-advertising/) can put you at the top of Google today, but the traffic stops the moment you stop paying. SEO takes longer to build, and the visibility it earns doesn't switch off when a budget runs out.

A common plan is to run ads while your organic rankings and AI visibility grow, then shift budget as organic leads pick up.

## SEO Marketing Las Vegas FAQs

These are the most common questions Las Vegas business owners have when comparing SEO options.

### How long does SEO take to work in Las Vegas?

There's no fixed timeline, and anyone quoting a guaranteed date is guessing. Results depend on your industry's competition, your site's history, and how much work gets done each month. Google's [hiring guide](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/do-i-need-seo) suggests asking any SEO what results to expect and in what timeframe, so you can hold them to it.

### Can I do SEO myself for my Las Vegas business?

You can handle the basics yourself, like keeping your Google Business Profile updated, asking for reviews, and writing helpful pages. Technical SEO, AI visibility work, and ongoing strategy take more time and skill, which is where most owners decide to bring in help.

### Does SEO work for all types of Las Vegas businesses?

Yes. Financial services, healthcare, real estate, home services, legal, and retail businesses all win customers from local search. The strategy changes by industry, and our scan showed the gaps differ too, from 50% of barbershops to 83% of urgent care clinics scoring lowest on AI visibility.

### What makes Advisors Marketing & SEO different from other Las Vegas agencies?

We're a small, focused team based in Henderson, and we publish our prices on our [pricing page](/pricing/). Every engagement starts with research into what people actually type into Google and AI assistants to find businesses like yours. We specialize in competitive niches like financial advisor marketing.

### How do I know if my current SEO is working?

Watch three things: organic traffic in Google Analytics, keyword and click trends in Google Search Console, and whether calls and form fills from search are going up. If none of those are moving after six months of consistent work, ask your agency what's changing.

### Is local SEO different from regular SEO?

Yes. Local SEO focuses on searches tied to a geographic area, including Google Maps results. It adds Google Business Profile work, local citations, and reviews to the standard on-page and technical work.
